The YSKC Symphony Orchestra is an advanced full orchestra made up of high school students in grades 9-12. Symphony Orchestra is the flagship ensemble of the program, performing standard orchestral repertoire.

Historical performance highlights include international tours to Spain and Europe as well as performances at Carnegie Hall. In September 2011, the Symphony Orchestra gave the first free public performance at Helzberg Hall at the new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. During the 2012-2013 season, the ensemble was selected to perform for the Missouri Music Education Association’s 75th Annual In-Service Workshop/Conference in Osage Beach, Mo.

In the 2013-2014 season, the orchestra will rehearse at the legendary Gem Theater in Kansas City’s historic 18th and Vine Jazz District.  Download a press release here.
